I can’t believe I haven’t blogged in months, that’s really bad you guys! I’ve become so focused on shooting new stuff like this and updating my Instagram with new work that sadly my poor little blog has sat attention less. That stops right here and now with this post from a recent shoot I did featuring this gorgeous model, Jill Stuart gowns and headpieces by What a Betty.

Their love story started close to where they now stood; 10 years later on a warm day in La Jolla exchanging rings and I do’s at The Martin Johnson House. Their love has taken them from the beachside locals of San Diego to the desert landscape of Dubai…yes Dubai. Chris’ work took the two to this exotic city, where architecture is ultramodern and the shopping scene is legendary. Once they were engaged the knew they wanted to share the big day back in San Diego in front of family and friends, and so the challenge of planning a wedding from over 8,000 miles away and 11 hours ahead began. With the help of a friend who lived in San Diego, and a special thanks to technology (which allowed us to have a Skype meeting) Laura was able to pull it all together.
I think more could be said about the love between these two than I could ever write. You can see it on their faces in the photos. It’s there in the way Laura looks at Chris and the way he looks back at her. It was a pleasure to watch you two fully enjoy your wedding day, and I hope the feelings you had then all come back while viewing the photos! View full post »

When you got the chance to photograph such a bad ass babe as Michelle you do a little happy dance and then figure out what would be the coolest spot to do the shoot. In this case that spot turned out to be Big Bear Mountain which has always been a dream spot of mine to shoot in and let me tell you it did not disappoint! Sure it’s about a 2 1/2 hour drive from San Diego but honestly it was so well worth the drive. Nature spots have been my favorite of recent and this one in particular just makes for such a stunning backdrop. It’s quiet, there’s fresh mountain air, ok there’s also no cell service which can be a little bit of a problem when trying to find each other, but nothing that would stop me from wanting to shoot there again and again and then one more time for good measure.
The shoot with Michelle and Spencer could seriously not have gone any better…for real I was so happy with how it all turned out! To be honest it would be hard to mess up because they are totes adorbs (ya I went there) and the forrest was working it’s magic. Really all I had to do at the point was not put my finger over the lens or something equally awkward and we’d be golden. I’d like to also mention these two are very talented photographers themselves, which only serves to amp up the nerves pre shoot! But I think I made it through without making too much of a fool out of myself.

Please enjoy the beauty that is Big Bear, as well as the on point stylings of Michelle and Spencer.

It was on a trip with Jackie’s family to Europe that Brian decided would be the moment he would propose. The plan was for it to happen on a hike in Switzerland; however there ended up needing to be a change of plans when Jackie’s sister and mother decided to join in on the hike. Instead the moment came at the end of the trip while in Italy; and whether it was Switzerland or Italy Jackie’s answer remained the same: YES!

The wedding day was a rare humid and rainy one for San Diego. Lucky for them the rain let up before the ceremony and stayed away the rest of the day. These two knew how to do it, they kept the day very stress-free and clearly enjoyed everything from start to finish-which is how I love to see couples on their wedding!

With every wedding I photograph there is pressure I put on myself to deliver the most beautiful photos imaginable. However there is a special additional pressure that comes along when your shooting a friends wedding, and such was the case with Jackie and Brian. I hope you guys enjoy the photos as much I did capturing them all for you!

It was one year to the day of their first date. On their anniversary they found themselves exactly where they wanted to be; on a beach on Coronado surrounded by family and friends promising themselves to each other for the rest of their lives. These two have had quite the jet set life since they met. Anderson is from Brazil so there were many plane tripes to and from his home country, there were those trips to Europe where they two explored new cities together. All of those adventures lead them to that beach on a somewhat chilly evening in Coronado.

I could feel their happiness while we took photos up and down the beach, these two were so excited to be able to say I do and start the rest of their lives together. It makes me happy to have been able to be a part of their story and their wedding. Here’s to you both!
