Went on a bit of an adventure for this shoot, trekking out to Anza Borrego Desert which is just one long windy road away from Julian. It took a bit of research to figure out how to get to Slot Canyon and then the dry lake bed. Each of them is a nondescript side turn off the main road onto an unpaved slightly bumpy road to the final destination. With a pretty quick Google search you can find where both are, and they’re about 20 minutes from each other. The day we went it was pretty hot to start but once we reached the dry lake bed closer to sunset it was actually pretty nice!
We had a good time exploring the area and taking photos along the way. I love shooting in epic landscape spots like this one and can’t wait to go back and do it again, if not just for the shooting but for the post burrito and margarita we all had!
